By the recent directive from the Ministry of Textiles, the Agro Textiles (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 has been promulgated and is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2024.

This order is specifically applicable to goods or articles, namely HDPE Laminated Woven Flat lay tube for drip irrigation. However, it is important to note that this order excludes items intended for export.

The specified goods, HDPE Laminated Woven Flat lay tube for drip irrigation are mandated to adhere to the relevant Indian Standard IS 16627 : 2017 (Agro Textiles - High density polyethylene (HDPE) laminated woven lay flat tube for use in mains and submains of drip irrigation system— specification).

Additionally, they must bear the Standard Mark obtained through a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards, following the guidelines outlined in Scheme-I of Schedule-II to the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The Bureau of Indian Standards is designated as the certifying and enforcing authority for the mentioned goods, HDPE Laminated Woven Flat lay tube for drip irrigation.

Any individual found in violation of the stipulations outlined in this Order will be subject to punishment in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016 (11 of 2016).
