BIS QCO for Viscose Rayon Cut Staple Spun Yarn
The Ministry of Textiles has issued a draft notification, known as the Viscose Rayon Cut Staple Spun Yarn (Quality Control) Order, 2024.
This order is proposed to take effect six months after its notification in the E-Gazette. Stakeholders are encouraged to submit their comments within 60 days of the notification.
Viscose Rayon Cut Staple Spun Yarn must comply with Indian Standard IS 3566 : 2023 and carry the Standard Mark, issued under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme-I of Schedule-II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018. The BIS will serve as the certifying and enforcing authority for compliance with this order.

Small enterprises, as per the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Act, 2006 (27 of 2006), after nine months from the date of publication. Micro enterprises, also defined by the same act, are mandated to adhere to the order within twelve months from the date of publication.
