It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Official Gazette.
This Order applies to the goods or articles classified as Steel Wire Ropes, Strands, Ring Net Panels, Rope Net panels and Rolls, which shall conform to the specifications outlined in the Indian Standard IS/ISO 17746: 2016, titled: “Steel Wire Rope Net Panels and Rolls.”

All such goods or articles must bear the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), in accordance with Scheme–I of Schedule–II of the Bureau of Indian Standards (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

Implementation Timeline:

• General Manufacturers (other than Micro and Small Enterprises): Compliance required within 6 months from the date of publication of this Order.
• Small Enterprises: Compliance required within 9 months from the date of publication.
• Micro Enterprises: Compliance required within 12 months from the date of publication.

Export Exemption: This Order shall not apply to goods or articles manufactured domestically solely for export.
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) shall act as the certifying and enforcing authority for the goods or articles covered under this Order, namely Steel Wire Ropes, Strands, Ring Net Panels, Rope Net panels and Rolls.
Any person who violates the provisions of this Quality Control Order shall be liable for punishment under the provisions of the Bureau of Indian Standards Act, 2016.
